Serving as the distribution hub for the Philippines’ Visayas and Mindanao areas, WSI’s Cebu branch has been providing superior IT products and value-added services to resellers in these two dynamic regions since 1991.

The branch was established after the company’s founder, William L. Chua, saw the potential growth of the VizMin area. The branch started as a partnership with the Cebu-based family of Marcelo Fernan III who managed the operations until the family decided to migrate to the U.S. in 1994. In that year, WSI Manila’s Irene L. Chua took over the operations and expanded its reach to the Mindanao provinces. Today, Geraldine Echavia, WSI’s General Manager continues to bring the company to new heights.

Staffed with more than 25 people, WSI Cebu ensures maximum channel coverage and shortest delivery time to more than 250 resellers within the Vizmin region.

Just like Manila, the Cebu branch has full warehousing, delivery and service facilities. Resellers are given superior support through the branch’s service center which provide repair and warranty services as well as sell spare parts. With the service center, resellers can be assured that information and technical support will be given them within a short period of time.

Contributing as much as 20% of the company’s revenues, WSI Cebu has indeed grown over the years, driven by an aggressive reseller network and an exciting and interesting market that continues to demand for premium products and services. The growth resulted in the branch moving to a bigger office on V. Sotto St. in Cebu City, as well as being appointed as the VizMin distributor for HP Consumer Products, specifically the inkjet product line.

The Cebu branch wouldn’t have successfully met the demands of the market if not for the people behind it—led by managers who have, over the years, been very instrumental in bringing the branch to where it is today. Maintaining a good rapport and relationship with customers is also one of the factors that are contributing to the branch’s outstanding performance.

WSI will continue to bring IT closer to other areas of the Visayas and Mindanao regions. Setting up a branch or distribution hub specifically for the Mindanao area is not far-fetched as the company continues to strive for product excellence and superior leadership in the IT distribution business.
